The Journey of Josh Cantillo

The Journey of Josh Cantillo is about Josh Cantillo and his spiritual journey from his resurrection at the age of 16 to his arrival in the woods of the Teton National Forest about twenty miles from the haunted house situated about ten miles outside of Solstin, Wyoming. His journey takes him through a personal transformation both in the flesh and in the spirit. After he is resurrected and promising God to follow Him and obey all His commands, he spends six months studying the Bible and praying.

At the end of the six months, he attends the memorial ceremony at the Welmington city park, where he sees the girl with whom he had once fallen in love. She, however, does not see him. He does watch the conversation she has with an older man carefully, thinking that maybe it is something that she needed to do. Even though Josh doesn’t listen to what is being said, he hears the words “Solstin, Wyoming.”

When he arrives home from the ceremony, he hears the words, “It is time,” and he knew that it was the Holy Spirit speaking to him. Immediately, he packs his bag with essentials only, including a pot for boiling water and a canteen for drinking water. He also packs a hunting knife and a little food for his journey. Even though it would be a long journey, he is destined to follow through God’s every command.

It is not a short journey. It takes him four years to make the journey from Welmington, Nevada, to the Teton National Forest. Throughout his entire journey, food and shelter is provided for him when he is in need of it. For three months his camps in the forest, living off the land. After three months, he journeys closer to the haunted house outside of Welmington. It is here he spends three months building a small boat that will float and carry him and two or three other people as well.
